(AP) — A judge ordered a white Georgia man to serve life plus 20 years in prison immediately after he was convicted Tuesday in what prosecutors have said was the racially motivated slaying of a black man 35 years ago.
Frank Gebhardt, 60, was convicted on charges including murder in the killing of Timothy Coggins, news outlets report.
Gebhardt was stoic as the verdict was read, but members of Coggins' family sobbed and hugged each other and prosecutor Marie Broder, the newspaper reported.
Gebhardt's lawyer told the jury his client was "racist" and "mean," but he argued the state relied heavily on witnesses who are in custody and testified in hopes of lowering their own sentences.
This can include dating, permitting each party to see other people without a fear of legal action or loss of support.
In drafting the agreement, you should keep in mind that the terms will define what each party is permitted to do, so you and your Raleigh defense lawyer should be careful with what it says.
"Hopefully, sir, you have stabbed your last victim," Judge Fletcher Sams said as he sentenced Gebhardt.
However, emotions aren’t governed by logic and reason, and if you are absolutely insistent on being able to date before the divorce is final, your Raleigh divorce lawyer can help you by drafting a post-separation agreement, which is authorized by General Statue 52-10.1.
This weekend, I saw the movie, The Hundred Foot Journey, with Helen Mirren.
